December 20th, 2007 - WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Sen. Wayne Allard (R-Colo.), commented today regarding Colorado Governor Bill Ritter’s announcement that his administration and the U.S. Department of the Interior are engaged in productive discussions about the future of the Roan Plateau and will continue the dialogue over the coming weeks.
"I am pleased that Governor Ritter is taking a reasonable approach to dealing with the potential development of resources on Roan Plateau," said Allard. "By working cooperatively with the federal government and avoiding an all-or-nothing approach the Governor is demonstrating that he recognizes that the protection of our natural resources and our national interests are of equal importance. I look forward to continuing to work with Governor Ritter and the Department of Interior as we move forward on this and other issues."
