Poll: Udall’s lead within margin of error

Democrat Mark Udall's lead over Republican Bob Schaffer in the race for the U.S. Senate has virtually disappeared, according to a new poll from Rasmussen Reports.

Forty-seven percent of those surveyed supported Udall, compared to 43 percent for Schaffer.

The four-percentage point lead is within the 500-person poll's margin of error of +/-4.5 percent.

Udall, who currently represents the 2nd Congressional District, held a nine point lead in a Rasmussen poll last month. In May, Rasmussen found Schaffer, a former U.S. Congressman, trailing by six points.
