A new poll of Colorado voters by Suffolk University finds U.S. Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) trailing U.S. Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) and his vice presidential running mate U.S. Sen. Joe Biden (D-Del.) by 5 percent.
The survey, which was conducted between August 21 to 24, finds the Illinois Democrat and his recently-announced running mate leading by 44 to 39 percent. David Paleologos, director of the Political Research Center at Suffolk University, noted that "with Colorado among at least seven battleground states that will swing this Presidential election, an Obama lead here puts enormous pressure on John McCain."
Regardless of who they support, 52 percent of voters expect that Obama will be the next president, while only 28 percent said the same for McCain.
