Shafroth gets in the game with first TV ad

Second Congressional District Democratic candidate Will Shafroth released his first television ad of the campaign Monday.

Called "Tackle," Shafroth, sitting on the sidelines of a neighborhood football field, touts his abilty to unite people to solve problems as red- and blue-jerseyed football players collide with each other.

The ad will run in CO-2 through the August 12 primary election, his campaign said in a release. It's currently being run on cable; a broadcast ad buy will soon follow, said Shafroth spokesperson Lynea Hansen.

The ad was produced by Dixon Davis of Washington, D.C., Hansen said.

Transcript:

[Football players hit each other]

Will Shafroth: You expect it out here, but in Washington, D.C., where things just get...

[Players collide again]

Football player #1: Feels good, doesn't it?

Football player #2: Get off me!

Shafroth: ...Ugly, and constant bickering in Congress means nothing gets done.

I'm a political outsider who spent 27 years bringing people together to solve tough problems

I'm Will Shafroth, and I approve this message because Washington politicians need to stop hitting each other and finally start tackling America's challenges.

CORRECTION: The firm that produced the ad is Dixon Davis, not Dickson Davis as was previously stated.
