The latest Rocky Mountain News/CBS4 U.S. Senate poll shows Democrat Mark Udall leading Republican Bob Schaffer 44 percent to 38 percent.
Independent candidate Buddy Moore polled 5 percent; Green Party candidate Bob Kinsey had 2 percent.
The poll of 500 likely voters, conducted between Aug. 11 and Aug. 13, has a margin of error of +/- 4.3 percent.
The favorable/unfavorable numbers show many Coloradans are not yet paying attention to the U.S. Senate race.
Of those polled, 34 percent said they had a very or somewhat favorable opinion of Udall. Twenty-four percent said they had a very or somewhat unfavorable opinion of the 2nd District Congressman, while 29 percent said they had no opinion of him.
Twenty-seven percent of those polled had a very or somewhat favorable opinion of Schaffer, while 22 percent said they had a very or somewhat unfavorable opinion of him. Thirty-nine percent said they had no opinion of the Republican.

How is Mark Udall leading by 6 in the polls? Bet the race is going to be closer than that come November. Especially if Udall keeps flip-flopping on oil and choosing big labor and union bosses over workers in Colorado.
