Romanoff: It's too early to think about SoS appointment

State House Speaker Andrew RomanoffState House Speaker Andrew RomanoffColorado House Speaker Andrew Romanoff brushed off speculation about him being appointed Colorado Secretary of State should Mike Coffman be elected to Congress as expected.

Speaking with PolitickerCO.com Wednesday, Romanoff said it was a matter to worry about after the general election.

"I'm really focused on the November election, ballot measures I'm working on -- it's not been a top priority," Romanoff said. "My brain is full."

Romanoff is considered a top candidate for the position, along with former state Senate President Joan Fitz-Gerald, who lost the 2nd Congressional District Democratic primary earlier this month.

Romanoff said he's spent the Democratic National Convention giving speeches and squiring his family around.

"I was scheduled to deliver an address to the convention, but they put me on the 5 a.m. slot," Romanoff joked. "Turns out there's nobody in the hall then."

He's scheduled to address the Junior State of America later on Wednesday.
