Wadhams is fluent in Newspeak

Some call it the "war room."

But to state Republican Party Chair Dick Wadhams, the GOP opposition headquarters set up about a mile from the Pepsi Center has a more sinister name.

"Just consider this the Ministry of Truth," Wadhams joked to the Denver Post, referring to the ironically named propaganda organization in George Orwell's 1984.

The ministry's three slogans are "War is Peace," "Freedom is Slavery," and "Ignorance is Strength."

Wadhams' quip has made the rounds among Democratic National Convention delegates.
