Concerns about chaotic polling places in Colorado on Election Day have so far proven unfounded, as news reports across the state show voting proceeding fairly smoothly.
Reports from Denver, Colorado Springs and Fort Collins state that the only crowds seen at polling places occurred in the morning when polling places first opened.
However, Colorado Democratic Party Chair Pat Waak said long lines were reported in Adams County. She also said there had been reports of "foul-ups" at some Arapahoe County polling places but said those had been fixed.
A call to the Arapahoe County Clerk and Recorder's office was not immediately returned Tuesday afternoon.
Colorado Republican Party Chair Dick Wadhams said overall, he hadn't heard of any major election problems.
However, he said some polling places in Denver and elsewhere had up to a dozen poll watchers representing various initiative campaigns and "liberal interest groups."
Wadhams said there was the "potential" for voter intimidation by the poll watchers, though he said he hadn't yet heard any reports of intimidation taking place.
