Smith says she's not interested in running for state GOP chair

Denver Republican Party Chair Mary Smith wrote in a comment on ColoradoPols.com on Saturday that she's not interested in running for state GOP chair.

"For the record, while (I'm) flattered by the interest and enthusiastic about the chance to rebuild the Grand Old Party, I'm not running for State Chairman," Smith wrote in response to a ColoradoPols post suggesting she might run.

Current state party Chair Dick Wadhams has said he's "strongly leaning" towards running for re-election next March, though he said he has yet to make a final decision on whether to seek another two-year term.

Face the State

It was actually a Face the State post that was cited by Pols. Face the State called Smith a member of their "dream team" to rebuild the GOP.
