
U.S. Rep. Ed Perlmutter (D-Golden) was selected to serve as a Democratic regional whip in the Mountain West and Northwest, according to a release obtained by PoliticsWest.com.
The job will require Permutter to count votes and educate Democratic congressional members from Colorado, Washington, Oregon, Nevada, Utah, Idaho, Wyoming and Montana.
"I am honored to be chosen by my peers to serve in this leadership role," Perlmutter said in the release. "We have incredible opportunities to change the direction of this country, and I look forward to working hard to help pass legislation to stabilize our economy, ease the squeeze on the hard working people in this country and ensure the safety and security of our nation."
