Lamborn reports $76K in contributions for 1Q 2008

U.S. Rep. Doug Lamborn (R-Colorado Springs) raised $76,319 for the first quarter of 2008, giving him $179,411 cash-on-hand, ColoradoPols reported Tuesday.

Reached by phone while driving Tuesday afternoon, Lamborn manager Robin Coran said those numbers "sounded about right."

Coran declined to comment about the numbers, saying she didn't want to talk on the phone while driving in traffic.

But Mike Hesse, manager for Lamborn primary opponent Bentley Rayburn said $76,000 "is pretty low" for an incumbent Congressman.

Jeff Crank led all CD-5 candidates by raising $84,390 in 1Q 2008; Rayburn reported taking in $54,150 for the quarter.

In the fourth quarter of 2007, the previous reporting period, Lamborn raised $66,130 -- ahead of Crank's $42,078, but behind Rayburn's $90,639.
