CD-2 Democratic candidate Jared PolisCD-2 Democratic candidate Jared Polis endorsed U.S. Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) for president at a Obama rally in Boulder on Saturday.
"We have a unique opportunity to make real, positive change," said Polis in remarks released by the campaign Saturday afternoon. "America deserves a change and Senator Obama is the light that will show us the way.
"It is time for superdelegates across the nation to step-up and throw their support behind the candidate of their choice," Polis continued. "It's time for a nominee to start taking on John McCain."
The current CD-2 U.S. Representative, Mark Udall, is a Democratic superdelegate who has not yet made an endorsement between Obama and U.S. Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-N.Y.).
"I know that political advisors would tell me to stay out of it, it's too risky, don't endorse anyone until the nominee is decided," Polis said. "But I am willing to take that risk and throw my support behind who I think is the best candidate to lead the Democratic Party and, ultimately, the nation toward positive change."
