Newly-minted Republican presidential nominee John McCain will be holding a fundraiser in Denver at the Denver Athletic Club on March 27th, 2008.
The McCain campaign, which has generally done poorly at fundraising, is hoping to raise more money this time than during his last trip through Denver.
In November McCain held a sparsely attended event, says one person in attendance, at the Columbine Country Club in Littleton. About 25 people came, many of them with complimentary admission.
However, over the last few weeks, the McCain campaign has integrated the fundraisers from the Guiliani and Romney campaigns. This time around the host committee alone consists of over 40 people. This is significant because the host committee is generally made up of people who have agreed to raise a lot of money for the candidate.
The event will be chaired by former Colorado Governor Bill Owens and almost former US Senator Wayne Allard.
The host committee includes Frances Owens, RNC Committee woman Lily Nunez, Senator Tom Wiens, Congressman Doug Lamborn, Congresswoman Marilyn Musgrave, congressional candidates Wil Armstrong and Bentley Rayburn and Pete Coors amongst others.
The private roundtable for those on the finance committee will start at 5:30 PM, while the general reception will start at 6:00 PM.
The U.S. Senate debate between U.S. Rep. Mark Udall (D-Eldorado Springs) and former U.S. Rep. Bob Schaffer (R-Fort Collins) will take place ... >
