Middleton To Face Opposition For 42nd District Vacancy Appointment

2007 Aurora School Board candidate Carlos Estrada (D) has indicated interest in finishing ex-state. Rep. Michael Garcia's term, according to the Denver Post.

He joins State Board of Education member Karen Middleton (D) in seeking the 42nd District seat, which was vacated Friday when Garcia resigned following allegations that he exposed himself to a female lobbyist.

Estrada ran for the Aurora school board in 2007, but he finished fourth out of of five candidates with 13.2 percent of the vote.

A 35-member board will vote Feb. 10 on who will finish the last 11 months of Garcia's term.
