U.S. Rep. Ed Perlmutter (D-Colo.) might be a rookie congressman, but --online, at least -- he's already turning heads.
Perlmutter's Congressional Web site received a "Silver Mouse" award last week from the Congressional Management Foundation, a non-partisan management consulting and research firm in Washington, D.C.
Perlmutter's staff has been aiming for a CMF award since the congressman took office last year, said spokesperson Leslie Oliver.
"We really studied a lot of Web sites, saw what worked, what didn't work," she said. "We wanted to make sure we could employ all avenues to reach out to constituents."
Perlmutter's site was one of 34 Congressional Web sites to receive a Silver Mouse. CMF also handed out 36 Gold Mouse awards and 34 Bronze Mouse awards, according to a Perlmutter press release.
CMF graded sites based on audience, content, usability, interactivity, and innovation, the release stated.
