State Rep. Rosemary Marshall (D-Denver) called on Republican U.S. Senate candidate Bob Schaffer to condemn what she called "racist material" on his son's Facebook Web page.
Justin Schaffer has a Facebook page where he posted images that included Egyptian pyramids over the words "Slavery gets shit done," Jesus holding a machine gun in front of a confederate flag, and side-by-side pictures of Barack Obama and cereal cartoon character Count Chocula over the words "Separated at birth?"
Here's a report from FOX31 TV:
The U.S. Senate debate between U.S. Rep. Mark Udall (D-Eldorado Springs) and former U.S. Rep. Bob Schaffer (R-Fort Collins) will take place ... >

Rosemary is ridiculous
It's fox, therefore clearly trustworthy and never overblown.
[/sarcasm]
Also, jokes about slavery are not necessarily jokes about racism, and therefore not "blatantly racist". Also, a few pictures are not "racist rants". Also, making fun of Obama is not racist (he doesn't get to be immune to jokes simply because he's not white). Also, colleges shouldn't "discipline" students for having a poor sense of humor.
Colorado's Reckless Son - Mark Udall
Battling the cliché "Boulder liberal" label, Senate Candidate Mark Udall comes clean about his past and his voting record.
It was 1972 in Arizona, and a longhaired Mark Udall, in his early twenties, was driving, when a police officer pulled him over. The officer searched his car, and Udall was arrested for possession of marijuana. Now a 57-year-old congressman, Udall recounts the episode inside his small office in the Denver suburb of Westminster.
His car was seized, and he spent a year on probation after pleading guilty to a misdemeanor.
Shaking her head, his spokeswoman, Heather Fox, says she sensed she should have cut off the interview earlier.
"No, no," Udall says, waving his hand to dismiss Fox, who interjects that she was only kidding. "It's out. It's in the record. ... As George Bush put it, 'When I was young and reckless, I was young and reckless.'"

UDALL IN THE FAMILY

Wrong!
Politicizing candidate's kids IS off-limits.
He gets to be a stupid, irreverent college kid just like everyone else was.
Furthermore slavery and racism are two different things. Throughout history, many ethnicities have been sujected to slavery, not just blacks. The Irish were among the most heavily abused people in history, and the Ukrainians have had many problems also. Sorry Rosemary, you need to study your history. Score your political points some other way.
