Bob Isaac, the first popularly elected mayor of Colorado Springs and one of the most influential political figures in the city's history, died Friday afternoon at the age of 80, the Colorado Springs Gazette reported.
Isaac died about 2:30 p.m. at the Union Printers home in Colorado Springs. The cause of death was pneumonia, the paper reported.
Isaac served five terms as mayor, from 1979 until 1997.
