Lilly tries again for CD-1 seat on Republican ticket

LillyLillyFour years after a third-party campaign to unseat U.S. Rep. Diana DeGette (D-Denver), George Lilly is back in the CD-1 race – this time, as a Republican.

The Denver businessman, who garnered 2 percent of the vote in 2004 while running for CD-1 on the American Constitution Party ticket, has reactivated his Web site, which asks district voters to “join George in the battle for the Constitution and the battle for America."

DeGette wins CD-1 Democratic assembly; hints at potential switch to Obama

U.S. Rep. Diana DeGetteU.S. Rep. Diana DeGetteU.S. Rep. Diana DeGette (D-Denver) won Saturday's CD-1 Democratic assembly unopposed, and suggested her superdelegate vote may go to Barack Obama following the last Democratic presidential primary, ColoradoPols is reporting.

DeGette, who as a sitting Democratic member of Congress is a presidential superdelegate, pledged her support to Hillary Clinton last November. But in her CD-2 Democratic assembly acceptance speech Saturday, ColoradoPols reported that DeGette "said that she would not join in any super delegate cabal to overturn the will of the people as expressed by the popular and pledged delegate count."
