Salazar 'glad' John Edwards isn't at DNC

Though U.S. Sen. Ken Salazar (D-Denver) has been very public recently in welcoming Democrats to Denver, he’s glad disgraced former presidential candidate John Edwards is nowhere in sight.

Edwards was scheduled to speak during the Democratic National convention, but he was dropped from the program following his admission of having an affair with a campaign videographer.

"(Edwards' affair) was wrong and from my point of view, as one of the hosts of the convention, I’m glad he’s not here," Salazar said to reporters Saturday afternoon.

John Edwards admission that he lied and dismissed reports of an affair with Rielle Hunter, a filmmaker hired to cover his presidential campaign, may have ended his public life, but did it also signify an end to the era in which the mainstream media controlled the agenda for national political journalism?

Obama Touts Electability In Denver Rally; Praises Edwards

“Colorado, our moment is now!” cried U.S. Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) before an overflow crowd Wednesday morning at the University of Denver.

During his address at DU’s Magness Arena, Obama cast himself as more electable than Democratic presidential opponent Hillary Clinton, saying he is better able to bring together Democrats, Republicans, and independents.  read more »

Poll finds Romney leading GOP field, Democrats Clinton and Obama in close fight

A Mason Dixon/Denver Post poll of likely Colorado caucus voters finds Mitt Romney leading the GOP field by a wide margin and Democrats Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton in a close fight.

On the Republican side, Romney picks up 43%, with John McCain at 24%, Mike Huckabee at 17%, Ron Paul at 5%, and Rudy Giuliani at 4%.

Caucus Carnival starts Feb 5th

Yesterday we wrote about Time Magazine’s muck up of the outcome of Colorado caucus. In reply we got some suggestions, some tips, and some sermons.

In one of the replies, the Inside Edge was reminded via email last night that the caucuses to be held on February 5th could bring some very interesting developments or at least unintended consequences.  read more »
