Obama Touts Electability In Denver Rally; Praises Edwards

“Colorado, our moment is now!” cried U.S. Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) before an overflow crowd Wednesday morning at the University of Denver.

During his address at DU’s Magness Arena, Obama cast himself as more electable than Democratic presidential opponent Hillary Clinton, saying he is better able to bring together Democrats, Republicans, and independents.  read more »

Obama Colorado Campaign To Announce "Key Endorsement" Tomorrow

Barack Obama's state campaign announced Monday afternoon that they will announce a "key endorsement" at a Tuesday morning press conference in Denver.

State Senate President Peter Groff (D-Denver) and state Rep. Terrance Carroll (D-Denver) will accept the endorsement at 10 a.m. tomorrow at House of Joy Miracle Deliverance Church in northeast Denver, a campaign press release stated. 

Groff is Colorado's first African-American Senate President, and Carroll is the state's only African-American state representative

Groff Becomes Colorado's First African-American Senate President

The Colorado Senate reconvened for its 2008 session today with an historic moment, as Democrat Peter Groff became the first African-American elected Senate President in the state's history.

"I understand that it is not just my hand that takes the gavel today," Groff said, according to a Denver Post article. "I understand that it is the hands of my relatives who toiled under the overseer's whip on the red clay of Georgia that take this gavel today on the red carpet of the Colorado Senate."
