Second Congressional District Democratic candidate Jared Polis came unannounced Wednesday to progressive talk radio station KKZN-AM to ask for a more advantageous interview time on Jay Marvin's talk show.
According to Marvin, who related the story on his radio show today on 760 AM, a Polis campaign worker asked in an email why Polis couldn't be interviewed at 8 a.m. -- "drive time" -- instead of 9 a.m.
Polis also questioned why Marvin planned to devoting two hours of his show to discussing a new study showing Colorado with the highest increase of impoverished children of any state in the nation, Marvin said.
Polis manager Robert Becker took issue with Marvin playing up the incident, saying the show featured a "known Fitz-Gerald supporter" and that talk radio in general was "meant to shock."
"There's no news here," Becker told a PolitickerCO reporter.
