Colorado Democrats US Rep Mark Udall and US Rep Ed Perlmutter said on Monday that "America needs to wean itself off its addiction to fossil fuels," according to 7News Denver's web site. Their remarks take on added importance because John McCain today talked about his energy plan, which includes, of course, an extra big helping of fossil fuels.  

The Boston Herald today takes a look at a wide open electoral map. The Inside Edge counts 15-20 states that could be in play this November. If it seems like a lot, it is.  

A Denver Post piece today dovetails nicely with yesterday's Washington Times piece on how the Democrats won the West. So in today's Inside Edge, Wally takes a look at the upside Colorado brings to Obama and the potential downside Obama brings to the Democrats.

One can also argue that Ted Harvey got 53 percent of the vote while four other guys split 47 percent. Or that Castellanes came in third out of the five candidates running. Or that Coffman and Armstrong tied for last place.

As 9News might say: this claim needs some context. Wally would say it like this: this claim's a little weird.

We face dire economic times certainly. But it’s nothing that can’t be fixed by an editor taking a Zoloft or two.

While still considered safe for the Democrats by Rassmussen, Obama only holds a 7 percentage point lead over McCain in Massachusetts. The last Democrat to win Massachusetts’ 12 electoral votes by approximately 7 percentage points? You guessed it: Mike Dukakis.

Despite a resolution passing out of the Colorado House 36-29 in support of a presidential regional primary plan that had bi-partisan support, some Colorado politickers are still resisting the idea as bad for Colorado and bad for politics in general.  read more »
