Jesus for VEEP

In today's Rocky, veteran political reporter Lynn Bartels introduces us to the Colorado delegates selected to attend the GOP national convention.

Like Bartels did in a previous piece on the Democrats, she asks some standard "feel good' delegation questions, like who is your GOP "Dream Ticket."

Many of the answers alternated between McCain-Romney and McCain-Huckabee. But they saved the best for last.

"Tom Tancredo and Jesus Christ," answered the last delegate profiled. "Tom could do the hard, controversial work and Jesus could inspire the populace to work toward something bigger than themselves."

We're just wondering why the delegate would put Jesus on the bottom of the ticket?

But

he's Jesus. Would it matter if he made the Iranians mad?

Jesus for VEEP

Here's why I wouldn't have Jesus as president. In meetings with Iran, he'd piss them off so badly that the nuclear bombs would start flying promptly.

I'm glad you found the answer humorous. The questions were a bit hum-drum. "Have you always been a Republican. . .?"
