UPDATED: Udall staffer editing Schaffer wikipedia entry?

The Republican-leaning blog The Colorado Index, thinks they caught a campaign staffer for U.S. Rep. Mark Udall (D-Eldorado Springs) modifying the wikipedia entry for his opponent, Bob Schaffer (R-Fort Collins). They write: "Unsurprisingly, he doesn't want Wikipedia readers to know about the close connection between Maggie Fox, Mark Udall's wife, and the League of Conservation Voters.  He has eliminated references to that connection twice."

Wikipedia has in the past investigated abuses by Congressional staffers.

UPDATE: Michael Ditto responds.

Your story is predicated on a lie. Flagging a section as having disputed neutrality does not "eliminate[] references" to anything. It adds a box that says "The neutrality of this section is disputed" and invites editors to discuss the matter on the article's "talk page."

The only "references" I have ever "eliminated" from Bob's page have been vandalism to Bob's page including statements that "Among other things, Schaffer is noted by his colleagues to have an insatiable thirst for oil" and "His parents noted that Schaffer would insist on bathing in big oil and drinking petroleum products to satisfy his thirst."

I also removed a homophobic rant that clearly violated Wikipedia's policy. I would imagine that Bob Schaffer wouldn't want these things on his Wikipedia page. If these supporters of his think that homophobic rants and slurs against Bob Schaffer are appropriate to have on his page, I will refrain from removing them in the future.

Next Time

The next time that I am called a liar on your site, please have the courtesy to let me know.

Had I not been writing an essay on the play this and one other essay got in the last two days, I would have had no reason to come back to this and discover that Mike Ditto lacked the courage to put a response on my site, but put one on yours in the hope that I wouldn't see it.

Just one problem
