Ward to host 'complimentary' energy forum

6th CD candidate Senator Steve Ward is hosting an energy forum on April 17th in Highlands Ranch where he will discuss “the current state of the industry, break-through technologies, and options for liquid fuels,” according to the email he put out trolling for attendees.

And, oh by the way: the forum is complimentary according to the email.

No admission.

Zero.

Duh.

Ward’s main thrust is to blend national security, energy security and economic security into one basket, by ineloquently saying that they “are of the same stripe. All require sensible, informed polices from Congress."

Duh.

The forum will be held on the 17th at the Recreation Center at Southridge, 4800 McArthur Ranch Road in Highlands Ranch. It begins at 7 PM and goes until about 8:30 according to the invite.

Ward says that his concern is that through US dependence on foreign sources of oil the US is not only making itself economically vulnerable but that the US ends up “funding both sides of the War on Terror” because those dollars go to those countries unfriendly to the US. He cites EIA statistics that say the US imports 26% of its crude oil and 24% of its petroleum from foreign sources.

Experts from various industries including coal, biomass, ethanol, oil and gas will be in attendance.

The Inside Edge doesn’t know it they plan on speaking to any of the points regarding energy security because, duh, the email doesn’t say. It just says that they “will join Sen. Ward.”

Doh!

Picking on Marines

Why do you pick on a good marine? He may not know how to write, but he does know how to fight, for his constituents . Thankfully we have someone making sense on energy for once. I don't see anyone else in the race talking about the issue.
